Pedro Acosta of Red Bull KTM stunned fans by setting the fastest lap time during the Free Practice 1 session at the MotoGP Catalunya 2025, held at the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Acosta clocked an impressive lap time of 1 minute 38.979 seconds, narrowly beating experienced riders Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) and Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo), who finished second and third respectively.
Other notable performances in the top five included Maverick Viñales (KTM Tech3) and Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati), showing strong form ahead of the race weekend.
However, reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) struggled to find pace, finishing well outside the top ten in 23rd place.
